Terms of Service

01General provisions

zone2 (the “Service”) is a browser game that turns indoor training into rides, runs, ski sessions and paddles through virtual worlds. It reads live data from your training equipment (smart trainer, Concept2 ergometer, treadmill, heart-rate strap) over Bluetooth, or from a virtual trainer you control with the keyboard, and lets you ride alone, next to friends, as a group on one vehicle, or in structured workouts.

The Service is free of charge. It needs a desktop browser with Web Bluetooth (currently Chrome or Edge) for real equipment; the virtual trainer works in any modern browser.

02Account and guest mode

You may use zone2 with an account or as a guest. To use the Service in either way you must be at least 18 years old.

With an account

• Give a real e-mail address you control and confirm it with the link we send. One account per person.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else uses it.
• Your player name is visible to other players. It must not impersonate anyone, be offensive, hateful or sexual, or contain someone else’s personal data or a trademark you have no right to use. We may change or remove a name that breaks this rule.
• An account lets you keep your rider, settings and ride history, download rides as FIT files, add friends, invite them to group rides and see group results.

As a guest

• You pick a nickname; your rider and settings stay in your browser only. Guest rides are not saved and you can’t add friends, but you can join a group ride with an invite code.
• The same rules for names apply to guest nicknames.

03Beta access

zone2 is in public beta. We are still building it, so features, worlds, physics and the look of the game will change, sometimes without notice, and things may break.

• We don’t promise that the Service is available at all times or works with every device.
• Speeds, distances, calories and other numbers in the game are estimates for entertainment and training motivation, not measurements you should rely on for medical or competitive purposes.
• We try hard to keep your account and ride history, but during the beta we can’t guarantee that no data is ever lost. Download the FIT files of rides that matter to you.

04Devices and safety

zone2 is played with real physical effort. You train at your own risk and are responsible for your own health and safety.

• Check with a doctor before you start training if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, have been inactive for a long time or are unsure whether hard exercise is safe for you.
• Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pressure, shortness of breath or feel unwell. Workouts, ERG targets and group rides can push hard: you can pause, lower the target or end the ride at any time.
• Set up your trainer, ergometer or treadmill according to its manufacturer’s instructions, on a stable surface, with enough space, ventilation and water. Keep children and pets away from moving parts.
• zone2 can control your equipment: it sets the slope or resistance of a smart trainer (adjusted by your “trainer difficulty”), target power in ERG mode, and the incline (and, only if you switch it on, the speed) of a treadmill. Use the equipment’s own safety features, such as a treadmill’s safety key, and stay ready to stop it yourself.
• Heart-rate zones and calorie estimates come from the data you give us (for example your max heart rate and weight) and from your devices. They can be wrong.

05Fair play

Other people ride in the same worlds, so please keep it fair and friendly. You must not:

• fake or tamper with equipment data to gain speed (for example scripted power, manipulated sensors or modified clients); the virtual trainer is for trying the game and playing without equipment, not for passing it off as real effort;
• use bots, scripts or automation to play, to create accounts, to send friend requests or invites, or to send e-mails through our forms;
• harass other players, including through player names, friend requests or invites;
• attack, overload, probe or reverse engineer the Service or other players’ connections, or try to access accounts or data that aren’t yours.

We may remove results, rename players, limit features or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and let you explain.

06Your content and our game

Your ride data, rider, settings and player name stay yours. You let us store and process them to run the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy, and to show the parts that are meant to be seen to other players (your name, rider and position in the world; your status to friends; your watts, heart rate and work to the riders in your group, including in their ride history).

The game itself, its worlds, characters, code, design and the zone2 name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial training and fun. You may share screenshots and videos of your rides.

07Liability

The Service is free and in beta, and is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost data or results, or for damage caused by your equipment, its setup or your training.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, in particular for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.

08Ending your use, changes, law

• You can stop using zone2 at any time. To close your account and have your data deleted, write to us from the e-mail address of the account; see the Privacy Policy.
• We may end the beta or the Service. We will announce it at least 30 days ahead where we can, so you can download your rides.
• We may update these terms as the game changes. For important changes we will tell account holders by e-mail or in the game before they apply. If you don’t agree, you can close your account; continuing to play means you accept the new terms.
• These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring claims there. EU consumers can also use the EU’s online dispute resolution information at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
